js2003
Hi Everyone, My situation is as follows: I am on H-1B visa (it's been a year almost). My mother holds a GC and she will be applying for her citizenship next year. I am 23 years old and unmarried. I would like to know the following: 1) Is it better for me to apply for my GC now or apply next year when my mother applies for her citizenship? 2) If I do apply for GC right now, approximately how long will the processing time take? 3) Also if my mother applies for her citizenship next year, will it positively/negatively affect my GC application? Any suggestions/advice on the same will be highly appreciated. Link to comment
Joe.F
The priority dates for the different GC categories are in the monthly Visa Bulletin. Just search for it with your favorite search engine. A pending I-130 does not affect the H1 nor an employment-based I-140. Link to comment
