GC and marriage

Hi,

Could you please help me with the following:

1. At what stage of the GC application can i add my spouse if i am single now but would be married sometime during the GC process? I am currently in the US on H1B and my girlfriend is an Indian citizen working in Canada.

2. What is the impact on the GC process if we are married, i am in the US, and she continues to work in Canada?

3. Is it required for her to be in the US (probably on H4 or L1) during the GC process ?

U.S. Citizens can generally sponsor fiance/e's for a visa to enter the USA prior to marriage. Nonimmigrant visa holders can generally bring spouses and children into the USA on a dependent visa category.
