While entering the country last time, my i94 was limited according to my Passport expiry that is Jan 2022. My wife's I94 is also restricted to the same date being dependent. I have applied for passport renewal from USA and got that renewed. Additionally, I have changed the employer and got my H1B transfer with extension filed. This is approved and I have valid i94 until July 2024 currently. Can my wife simply visit the Mexico border to get her I94 renewed with my latest I797 form? or she should officially file an H4 extension ? Please clarify Quote Link to comment
rksingh Posted December 17, 2021 Report Share Posted December 17, 2021 You can do either method.......She can go to Mexico border and come back BUT only if she has valid H4 Visa stamp in her passport to re-enter into US. If she does not have valid visa, then only option is to file for H4 extension Quote Link to comment
