Changing job on I-485 EAD and scenarios at renewal time

Hello,

I received my EAD based on I-485 application which is valid for 2 years. If I change job on EAD and my date does not become current for next 2 years (due to proposed retrogression) and I apply for EAD renewal before 90 days of its expiry. If EAD does not comes before expiration date, would it affect my job as well as my pending I-485 application? Do I have stop working or I could continue working on EAD receipt.

Can we change job as soon as we receive the EAD especially during special circumstances such as employer losing contract etc? Thanks

If you timely file your EAD extension request, you can continue to work for upto 180 days after expiration of current EAD card.

Your pending I485 will not be affected.

Your I485 application must have been pending for at least 180days for you to voluntarily change employers. Please consult a qualified attorney for special cases where you get laid-off/terminated etc
