Asifiqbal Posted August 22, 2021 Report Share Posted August 22, 2021 I have an unexpired J1 visa which was issued for a research scholar program with expiry date in 2022. However, My J1 category was subsequently changed to J1 (Alien Physician) with required approvals with ECFMG as the new sponsor while remaining in the US. My SEVIS ID remains unchanged although my sponsor has changed. I now wanted to travel outside the US. So, I wanted to ask if my if I could seek to re-enter the US using this unexpired J1 visa together with my new DS-2019 issued by my new sponsor or I need to apply for a new visa.
