H4 to H1 consular processing - entered US 14 days ahead of start date

Hello All,

I was on H1b got laid off - > filed for H4 ( never heard back ) - > New company filed for H1b with a start date of May 24th - I went out of country and reentered US on May 5th  to align my immigration status.  Am I considered out of status till 24th May ? Please advise.

You have receipt notice of H4 which is good.

FYI - My start date on i797 is May 10th, My offer letter has a start date of May 24th.

You have not mentioned two important dates. Last day of H1b employment and when you filed your H4. Without that no one can answer. Please provide ll the details if you seek help.
