vikas_bose
I did a change of status from F1 to H1b. I came to India due to an emergency and currently, I am not to secure an appointment. I don't have the flexibility of working from India. I might lose job if can't go back to work within 2 months. If I don't get stamping and lose my job. Let's say after 1 or 2 years, If I secure an offer from USA based company, can I do an H1B transfer and get stamping ? Do I need to the lottery again to get an H1b ? Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
You will be eligible for 6 years minus the time you spent in H1 status starting any time and not subject to a lottery. You can also opt for the lottery to give you a fresh 6 years in H1 status. Quote Link to comment
vikas_bose
I worked for approximately 5 months on h1 status as of now. Thanks. This is reassuring. .I was worried that I will lose h1 without initial stamping, Quote Link to comment
