When to start i140 transfer post employer change

Hi,

I would like to know when should i start my i140 transfer process with my new employer.

I have a approved i140 application and my Priority Date is FEB 2018.

Should i wait until my priority date is close to getting current or get it done in advance?

There is no I-140 transfer. The new employer has to start the process from scratch, starting with PERM. The only thing you can take from the old I-140 is the PD.
