Stay more than 6 month visit FRRO

Hi Team,

I and my son(14 years old) are US citizens having valid OCI card. We are currently staying in India for 7 months. Do we have to register/visit the FRRO office? since our stay may extend for another 6 months due to the covid situation. Please guide.
