I-94 validity after H1B transfer, and subsequent withdrawal

Recommended Posts

I have a valid I-797A with my current employer until 2021. I recently received an offer and an H1B Approval from another employer. However, I had to withdraw myself from the new job (did not join the new employer and decided to stick with the old employer) due to personal reasons, and they are yet to file for the withdrawal of the petition from their end. Now my question is - which of the I-94s is valid? Is it the one on the I-94 website, or the paper I-94 attached to the new I-797A? I'm assuming it's the former because my new I-797A never got activated. The law firm for the new employer said they would anyway send me the I-797A to keep for my records, so I'm a little confused here.
