H1B approved H4 in process change of clients

Hello,

My situation:

1. H1-B / H4 expiring in Dec 2020

2, Applied for H1-ext with H4 in Aug 2020 for client A

3. Got h1-B ext approval in 2 days with petition valid from Jan 2021 to Dec 2023 ( Client A)

4. H4 ext and H4EAD pending .. Biometrics done

5. H1b Amendment for client B need to be filed 

Since I have 2 petitions i.e. current petition valid till Dec 2020 and newly approved petition from Jan 2021 to Dec 2023. do I need to apply for just H1B LCA amendment or extension as well to avoid shorter approval on old petition ( Dec 2020) as new petition will be effective only in Jan 2021

Do I need to file H4 as well if filing for H1-B extension again?
