Can I (primary H1B holder) and spouse(H4 dependent with H4 EAD approved) stay and work/study in different states?

Hi, 

I am currently on H1B and my spouse is on H4, living together. I am currently planning to accept a new job and move to a new state. Spouse however is doing her Master's at a University in the current location we are living in. Is it allowed for me to move to a new state with my H1B transferred, while my spouse continues to stay in the current location till she completes her masters'? We might have to stay separated roughly for a 2 year time frame till spouse graduates. Is this okay for H1B holder and H4 dependent spouse to stay apart for as much as 2 years?
