smukherjee
I am an Indian national currently staying in the US, and working at a US university with a valid H1b visa and I-797b. My I-797b and visa were issued last yr in October, and will both expire on Sept 30 2020. My university is considering an extension of my employment. In light of the recent suspension of H1b visa by the US govt, it is unclear whether a petition for H1b extension of stay will be processed and accepted by the USCIS. My question is - Can my employer file a petition for H1b extension of stay in my case? Will the USCIS process and approve the petition? Thank you. Quote Link to comment

The EO doesn't block anyone in US from applying for extension. Quote Link to comment
