California Driver license during pending ead renewal

Hi,

I have applied for EAD renewal (based on 485) in Mar 2020. 

I live in California. My Driver license expires on Sep 1st based on my EAD expiration date.

and my i-765 is still in processing status. 

Is there a way to get a license renewal based on the pending status.

 

When I try to renew online in CA dmv website, it says "not eligible".

And it Looks like there are no in person appointments available due to covid 19.

 

Any suggestions please?
