F1visaAP
I'm a PhD student and I held an F1 visa for 4 years. I wasn't allowed to return to the US after attending a conference in Europe. Upon contacting the consulate, I was told that my visa had been cancelled (even though it was supposed to be valid for several more months). No reason was provided and I was told to reapply for a new visa. I applied for a new F1 visa and it has been in Administrative Processing (221g) for the past 10 months. No updates on my case, inquiry emails by me and senator/congressperson all come back with generic response. I've missed three semesters because of this and has had a serious impact on finishing my degree. I have no clue why they cancelled my visa in the first place, ahead of its expiry. I asked VO during my interview and he said "I have no idea". I have not committed any visa violations to my knowledge. Would appreciate any advice on how to make progress in my case. I am currently considering Mandamus, but I haven't seen any cases online where F-1 visa delays were challenged. Edited June 17, 2020 by F1visaAP Expand AP abbreviation Quote Link to comment

F1visaAP
It's very odd indeed. The lack of any information about my visa revocation adds to the frustration. I am considering Mandamus as an option moving forward, given that I have waited for close to an year. Is there anyone at Murthy Law Firm who might be able to help, either with Mandamus or just any means to make progress in my case? Quote Link to comment
