happyuser
Hello All, I am on H1B visa and my project is over on June 5 and my H1B visa is getting expired on June 25th. I have few questions based on my current situation. 1) Is there any grace period for me to stay here by considering the pandemic (COVID-19)? 2) If must travel required and if Vande Bharat does not help much to travel (seats are limited) before my visa expires, how can I proceed further? Please let me know. Quote Link to comment
gopalakrishnach
1) Before 60 days of last working day or end of I94 with every comes first you need new H1B petition. No special grace period of I94 end date of new H1B petition due to virus. 2) USCIS and DHS may not take this as valid reason. I am sorry to say. Why the wor Vande Bharat? any sarcasm. User099
If your I94 is getting expired on June 25th then you will have till June 25th. By then you will have to find a new employer to file a H1 transfer or apply for B2 to stay beyond I94 expiry date. I heard fights are starting in a week or so, may be you can find seats then if your don't get picked in the Vande Bharat lottery. Quote Link to comment
