mcc_student
Hello, I have a quick question whether a particular program comes under purview of public charge My 6 year child has speech delay and I have enrolled the child under IEP ( Individualized Education program) which is a separate program from regular school and wherein child receives special education on language, motar skills etc. This program is funded by federal govt ( not sure though) I want to know whether by enrolling child in this EEP program constitute public charge. Pls let me know Quote Link to comment
newacct
Educational benefits are not considered for public charge determinations. Quote Link to comment
User099
You are good, these don't come under public charge. You are not taking Federal money to supplement your income. Secondly, these are for your Kid and if he is a citizen then he won't come under the federal charge rule. Quote Link to comment
mcc_student
Thanks for your response. One follow up question: My Child is not a US Citizen and is on H4. Is it still safe for me to keep sending the child to IEP program. Thanks Quote Link to comment
User099
I feel you should be good, these don't come under public charge. If you want to me 100% sure, you might want to check with an attorney. Quote Link to comment
