EPB
Hi, My wife is a Permanent resident and I am on an H1-B temporary visa. We concurrently filed I-485 and I-130 (along with other forms: I-130a, I-765, I-864, I-131, and I-693). Unfortunately, we have had to file twice with rejections both times due to application fees not being accurate. First filing: Fees sent were $1,225 (I-485 and biometrics), and $535 (I-130) using cashier's checks. Rejected due to (1) payment amount is incorrect, and (2) out dated version of form used. Second filing: Fees sent were $1,225 (I-485 and biometrics), and $535 (I-130) using personal checks. Rejected due to (1) payment amount is incorrect, and (2) application not fully completed (I-944 not submitted). We confirmed the fees with USCIS twice over the phone and they stated these amounts were accurate. So we corrected the form version and filed the second time using a different form of payment. We are unable to understand what is wrong the fees. Appreciate any recommendations. Thank you! Quote Link to comment
JoeF
Forget calling the USCIS "help line." That's outsourced, and they don't know anything outside of their scripts. The instructions for the forms, including the fees, are online at the USCIS website. Why didn't you look there? Really, it takes a few seconds. And it's in writing. EPB
Thank you for your response, JoeF. We have been through the instructions for the forms and the USCIS fees calculator a number of times, and they all state exact amounts we paid. Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
(2) application not fully completed (I-944 not submitted) What about this? I would ask a law firm to go over your forms before sending them. Edited May 5, 2020 by pontevecchio Quote Link to comment
EPB
Thank you for your response and suggestion pontevecchio. We will be working with a lawyer. "Payment amount is incorrect" is the only point of concern since all sources state our amounts are correct. Quote Link to comment
