H4 extension approved but H1 still pending

Hi,

My employers have filed for my H1 extension (this is first extension with my approved I-140) along with my spouse and kid H4 extensions on Jan 31st, 2020 and the petition went to Nebraska Service Center.

To my surprise, both my spouse and kid H4 extensions were approved and Mar 23rd, 2020 and received the USCIS approved notice in few days but my H1 extension is still in "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken". Upon talking my HR, the H1 extension should be approved in order to H4 approval. Is this true? I know these are odd times to look for an immediate response from USCIS or anyone.

Generally that is how it is, H1 is approved and then H4 is approved.

Normally, H4 will be approved after H1B is approved. In your case maybe online is not reflecting correct status. I guess you are good just keep waiting for H1B approval.
