rehmanu
Hi, I posted this in the student visas section but thought it would be relevant here as well. I am a student currently on OPT. I lost my EAD card and applied for a replacement by filing form i765. I did not realize that the USCIS# on my EAD is also my alien number so I wrote “None” in the question about alien number. I later learned that the official instructions for the form ask you to leave this question empty if you do not have an alien number or do not know what it is but I actually wrote “None”. I got the i797C (Notice Type: Receipt). The space for the alien number is blank on the notice. I did attach a copy of the lost EAD with my application. Is this grounds for denial? Should I call or write a letter to USCIS and ask them to correct my error? If my application is denied, I won’t have time to apply again because I will run out of allowed unemployment days.
