We had an appointment scheduled on April 2 for Biometrics but USCIS offices were closed and have not received a rescheduled appointment letter. What should we do? There is nothing you need to do but wait. Once the moratorium on in-person appointments is lifted USCIS will reschedule the appointments.
Raj_
Hello, I received my Green card in November 2019 through my employer. I reside in Texas. However I may be unemployed in a week. In that case If I file for Unemployment benefits: 1: Will I be considered to be availing public benefits and is it considered a public charge? 2: Will this affect me when I apply for citizenship 5 years in the future if I file for unemployment benefits? JoeF
Unemployment benefits are not public benefits. They come out of an insurance the employers pay into. It has no effect on a citizenship application.
Grey101
I am currently on H1B. My employer has put everyone in my company on 2 weeks furlough. But for visa holders, employer has given three options- 1.) Take a 2 week furlough OR 2.) Take a 2 week unpaid leave OR 3.) Take a 15% pay cut for 2 months (keep working in this case) My question is which is a good option from the above three for a H1B visa holder like me?

Rajesh Sun
As I lost my job on H-1B, and my 60 days grace period is over, I have applied for a tourist visa. I have an approved I-140. 1. Please confirm that my H-1B is cap-exempt 2. How long does it take to get a tourist visa approved? Is there a way to expedite the process? What happens if it is denied? 3. If I get a job on H-1B, do I need to go out of the country to get the visa approved? Please advise.
