Ramya Balasubramanian
Dear Sir / M'am, I am residing in India and applying for a H4. I have a few questions while filling the DS 160 form. PERSON / ENTITY PAYING FOR YOUR TRIP : Options available : a) SELF b) US PETITIONER c) OTHER PERSON d) PRESENT EMPLOYER e) EMPLOYER IN THE US f) OTHER COMPANY / ORGANIZATION I had mentioned as "Other Person" in the list of above options Question 1 - Let me know if " Other person " is the precise option for a H4 ? I had given the details of my husband, as the one who will be sponsoring my trip subsequently after selecting the option as "Other person". Question 2 - Is I-134 (Affidavit of Support) form necessary to be filled by my husband and to be available during the visa interview ? Requesting your advise on this. Thanks and Regards, Mrs.Ramya Ravisankar Edited March 18, 2020 by Ramya Balasubramanian Quote Link to comment
User099
1. B or C both are acceptable answers. 2. I don't think I134 is needed for H4 visa. Quote Link to comment
MurthyIndia_Lawyer
Hi! It is okay to pick “Other Person” and provide details of your spouse as the person paying for the trip. In general, form I-134 is not needed for a H4 application. However, under the current administration, with importance being given for the public charge clause, it does not harm to carry the form I-134 with supporting documents and present the same if the necessity arises.
