Nikhil R Shenoy
I am holding active H1B visa -which expires on APRIL 2020 (can be renewed through cap exemption) ; this visa was sponsored by Company A and I already traveled to US once. I am currently working in India. I got an offer from company B , company B may not transfer my visa. In this case can i transfer visa myself ? so that i wont lose my H1B. If so what is the process for the same?. Looking forward :) Quote Link to comment
JoeF
An H1 always has to be filed by an employer. You can not file anything. Quote Link to comment

cyberlord
No you cannot transfer H1-B by yourself. An employer should sponsor your petition and visa. Once you have been on H1 status in US, you wont lose your H1-B. You can file cap-exempt petition till you exhaust the allotted 6 years. You need to find an employer who can file your H1 (cap-exempt) from India. Quote Link to comment
