PrithviRathi 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2020 Kindly clarify this. on 2010 my petition was filed in the category of Brothers and sisters(F4) of adult U.S. citizens. Received approved I-130 on 2015. Currently i'm in US with L1A visa, Can i initiate Form I 485 to adjust my status with help of Approved I-130 and irrespective of priority date showing in Visa bulletin. Does this mean i will get green card earlier than current date as per visa bulletin. Thank you so much for your quick response. Share this post Link to post
care_candidate 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2020 Why irrespective of priority on visa bulletin? You just have to wait till your PD becomes current. Share this post Link to post
pontevecchio 12 Report post Posted February 12, 2020 You can only adjust status when your Priority Date is current, and you are in valid status at that time. Share this post Link to post
PrithviRathi 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2020 Sounds Good. Visa bulletin site shows date 2005 as current date(F4 Sibling category), however USCIS processing timeline(F4 Sibling category) portal shows date as 2009. Kindly guide us which one we need to follow to check the current date. Share this post Link to post

The amount of time the I-130 petition takes to approve and the wait for a visa number to become available are two different things. Even after the I-130 petition is approved, they will still not be able to immigrate until a visa number is available. Share this post Link to post
pontevecchio 12 Report post Posted February 18, 2020 (edited) The Visa Bulletin is the one to look at. Anything else is not relevant. Edited February 18, 2020 by pontevecchio Share this post Link to post
