H1b Stamping with Reckless Driving Speeding Ticket

Hi all,

I got convicted for reckless driving speeding ticket (no arrest) in virginia. This is the only ticket in my driving record

Am very much worried and I am thinking to go for visa stamping this year,

Please let me know your inputs who faced similar situation.

221G is meant for more information that does not justify the job/work visa. How can that be issued for a driving license related ticket? If the officers are power consumed  and treat this visa with false judgement, sure this could be the case.

Will it help if the person takes an attorney with him to the Consulate Office? Can attorney accompany during stamping?

Run the scenario by an Immigration Lawyer before going for the visa.

You cannot take an attorney with you during visa stamping. 221G is not only for job/work related issues. It is also given for lot of other issues like background checks, educational checks etc.

221G is given for any reason if they want to check something and cannot make decision right away. They know everything about you and also your encounter with law enforcement and they will sure want to check it out. 221G is not only for job related issues they can be given for this also.

Asking to be prepared does not mean that they are going to issue 221G. I am just advising OP to plan and prepare...

Yes, very nice responses. I see recently there is a DUI person who got 221g and later was asked to take psych evaluation.

Even for US citizens, its a very tough situation. Just coming to think of it, one of my friends who was a regular Caucasian, did not land a job for 15 years in her field in accounting and ended up painting walls in construction sites due to something related to traffic and cars. I gave her a good reference and talked about her at length and got her employed again, in the same firm I did my tax in at that time. Its cruel and...certainly not connected or geared towards a group, for sure. I feel the pain though... pray
