jwolfe
I am a US citizen who is engaged to a Chinese citizen here on an F-1 student visa. She graduates in April and her visa expires at the end of June, which is right when we were planning to get married. Could we have a courthouse wedding now so that we can start the adjustment of status process to get her a green card and then have an actual wedding ceremony later? Would that look bad in terms of evidence of a real relationship, making it appear more that we are getting married just for the green card? Quote Link to comment
02112018
That's fine, no bad impression. They look at term of your relationship not much concentration on when did you got married. Congrats on your wedding. Enjoy the life. Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
A courthouse wedding is an actual wedding. That's fine. Make sure to SPEND the money on a lawyer to cover your bases. Quote Link to comment
