MukeshRoy
My Passport is about to expire during December 1st week 2020, while I would be going for Visa stamping for Nov 3rd / 4th weeks this year (2019), would it be a concern or question at consulate during stamping or inteview? I might not have enough time to renew my passport with a few days left for an unplanned trip I have to make. Quote Link to comment
User099
It will not be a issue in stamping or interview. But at port of entry, you will get you I94 only till your passport is valid. Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
Even if you get a visa till H1 Petition expiry, the I94 on coming back will be till Passport expiry and you will be out of status after that. Hence you need a new passport. Quote Link to comment

But while coming back you will get I-94 till passport expiry date only. So you need to mark your calendar to renew your I-94 by November 2020 by going out of country and coming back OR applying for H-1 extension again. Quote Link to comment

Renew your passport for next 10 years in India only and then come with both the passport. You need to keep your old passport with you as it will have visa stamped. Quote Link to comment
