Job change during H1b extension is pending and previous H1b and i94 is expired

I am currently on my 6th year of H1b and my current employer had filed for extension under normal processing  before my current h1b visa expired in September. I got my i140 approval 5 month back.

I am expecting my application will come under perusal during the month of December. basically i am under 240 days grace period. 

My question is, Can i change the job before i get extension from current employer ?  Can new employer file for my new h1b visa using my approved i140?  Both my H1b and i94 expired in September.
