Balaji Baskaran
Hi, I had H1B extension approved until 3/23/2020 for Client A. I had to move to client B to a different location last year and had filed a relocation amendment. I got approval (I797A) for relocation amendment last month and it had come with an end date of 12/31/2019. Below are my questions: 1. What does this end date from Relocation amendment mean to me? Does it mean I can stay in the current location only until 12/31/2019 or it is the final date of my valid stay in entire US with H1B? 2. If this relocation amendment end date does not affect my earlier extension date of 3/23/2020, what are my options to continue in the US until this date? 3. My Dependents have H4 extension until 3/23/2020. With this relocation amendment approved with end date of 12/31/2019, does this affect my dependents in any way? Please advise. Thanks, Balaji Quote Link to comment
User099
1. 12/31/2019 is the final date for your valid stay in US with H1B, under the current petition. 2. You will have to file for an extension before 12/31/2019 to extend you stay. 3. H4 is only valid till primary H1 is valid even though they have their expiry till 3/23/2020. Quote Link to comment
gopalakrishnach
1. 12/31/2019 is last day you can work for Client B. That is also last valid date for you to stay in USA. Do not expect that on 01/01/2020 you will go back to Client A and work. No. You have to leave USA after 12/31/2019 if you do not have any extension 2. Apply for h1B extension and get receipt by 12/31/2019. You can work on receipt after 12/31/2019 . 3. 12/31/2019 will last date for your H4 dependents. Even though they are valid till 03/23/2020 since H1B is valid only till 12/31/2019 they cannot stay beyond that. Just apply for H1B extension and also H4 together as soon as possible before 12/31/2019 under premium. Quote Link to comment
