H1-B travel
Hi, I am planning to travel in December for stamping H1-B Visa because of a family emergency and I have approval only for six months that is expiring in March end. Is it risky to travel I am concerned they might ask me questions regarding expiration? Even though I have I-94 approved until April 2020. Or should I wait to get Extension and then travel? How Many days after I should apply for an extension? Please let me know. Thank you Quote Link to comment
User099
Its your decision to make to travel or not, since you said family emergency you will know what to do. Its quite common now a days to get short term approvals depending on your client project end date. You can apply 6 months before your expiration date. Quote Link to comment

Most likely, at the time of interview, you will be asked about your plans after expiration of current visa. You can tell the truth about extension. Please understand that you can get extension to up to total of six years only on H1b, unless you have an approved I-140. Quote Link to comment
