First time H1-B stamping

H1-B travel

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am planning to travel in December for stamping H1-B Visa because of a family emergency and I have approval only for six months that is expiring in March end. Is it risky to travel I am concerned they might ask me questions regarding expiration? Even though I have I-94 approved until April 2020. Or should I wait to get Extension and then travel?

How Many days after I should apply for an extension?

Please let me know.

Thank you

There is no issue for you. Most likely, at the time of interview, you will be asked about your plans after expiration of current visa. You can tell the truth about extension. Please understand that you can get extension to up to total of six years only on H1b, unless you have an approved I-140.
