Venkat Gutta
I'm a graduate student from UCM with STEM OPT valid till May 2020. My H1B petition for 2020 CAP has got picked in the lottery and was approved until 02/01/2020, but 'Change of Status' was denied as I've travelled out of USA during this processing period. It was mentioned on the USCIS notice that I've to go out of USA to get my visa stamped at a US Consulate, so that my H1B gets activated. Meanwhile this H1B approval has changed my STEM OPT authorization end date from 05/08/2020 to 10/01/2019. Is it accurate that I'm no longer on F1, even though my 'Change of Status' was denied ? Apart from travelling to India, do I have any other option to get my H1B stamping done ? Please guide me on how to handle this situation, thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
User099
You can take the Approved I797 to your school and have them do a data fix of your Sevis. Canada is also an option to get Visa stamped. Quote Link to comment
Venkat Gutta
Thanks @User099 for responding to my query, I'm working with my DSO to get my SEVIS data fixed. Also planning to travel to India at earliest to get my visa stamping done. Quote Link to comment
