H1B/H4 administrative processing

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I had my first time H1B interview today (10/10/19 - 9:15 am interview) in Vancouver, Canada. Got a white letter with 221(g) on it.

Situation:
-> First time L1 to H1b and H4.
-> VO asked some random questions facing any problems while entering the border, I said No, he was a bit surprised.
-> Asked about my job role, highest degree and said that there is further processing required and don't know how long its going to take.
-> Kept our passports and i797.

Has anybody faced something similar recently? We are currently stuck in Vancouver, Canada and concerned about the time it takes for processing as I am with my wife and baby. Any guidance will be helpful.

No one can provide exact timeline. You can request for passports and travel to home country and come back to Canada when 221G is cleared. This suggestion is to avoid food and lodging expenses.
