wisheme
Hi, I have an understanding that a H1B person can register a company. However, what I want to know is, if H1 starts a company, can the spouse work for that company? (considering spouse also has H1b approved.) Quote Link to comment
JoeF
On H1 you can ONLY be a passive investor, meaning tou can put money into a business but otherwise stay out of it. You can not work for it, not opening a bank account for the company, not even taking the trash out. All that is work which requires work authorization. You H1 only allows you to work for tour employer. Same for the spouse. Quote Link to comment
gopalakrishnach
As far as I H1B cannot start any compan and cannot be involved in day to day running of company and cannot get any type of money from it. You can just invest and stay away from it. Can buy shares and get dividends. Quote Link to comment
