My status will change from F1 to H1 from OCT1st, but I want to stay in F1 status only. I do not want to transfer my H1 too. If I travel before Sep 28th and renter on Oct 3rd. Does that mean I abandon H1 visa and can reenter using F1 visa and travel I20 ? Quote Link to comment
JoeF Posted September 5, 2019 Report Share Posted September 5, 2019 Since your H1 was approved your Sevis will terminate on Oct. 1. If the job no longer exists the employer has to revoke the H1. You then have to talk to your DSO to keep the Sevis active for you to continue in F1. The time frame to get that done is really short now. Quote Link to comment
