L2EAD extension and eligibility for work

Hi,

my spouse L1b petition has gone for extension and I am on l2 with EAD. My EAD is also expired, though I have applied for EAD extension by sending receipts of my spouse L1b extension application along with my dependent visa extension. As I have applied for my l2EAD extension, my employer is saying that I can continue work as result is awaited for my EAD.

 

can you pls guide if this is ok to work while waiting for my l2 visa as well as EAD extension?
