questionb
I am currently awaiting my minor sons GC which was filed based on my EB2 application. (My family and I received our Green Cards 5 years ago) Our priority date became current in the July 2019 bulletin for EB2 India. My question is - how many days after July 1 should I expect to receive my minor sons GC. (or any communication) ? Just looking for typical number of days. Quote Link to comment
care_candidate
EB = Employment based. You probably need to look at FB = Family based priority date. Quote Link to comment
questionb
No -It is employment based since my GC is employment based. Quote Link to comment
care_candidate
You mentioned that you and your family received green card 5 years ago. Then what are you looking for now? Quote Link to comment
questionb
All our applications went in at the same time under EB2. 3 of us got GCs .. Waiting for sons GC. EB2 Priority date became current again on July 1. Hence question - These days - how long does it take to receive GC/communication from USCIS after date becomes current? Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
https://my.uscis.gov/en/appointment/v2 Try and get an INFOPASS Appointment. Try other options on this page. Call USCIS @ 1-800-375-5283. Try and get a tier 1 or 2 Officer and mention your concern. Some options. In an ideal world, the GC will arrive in a few days. Get your federal senators Office involved if no joy. Quote Link to comment
questionb
1. I did try to get an INFOPASs appointment. They said they dont give INFOPASS appointments for 'enquiry' reason anymore. . ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 2. Will try the tier-1, tier-2 appointment route. although it seems incredibly hard to get to any person other than INFOPASS person. Quote Link to comment
Shurap1
Just wondering - are you not planning to take citizenship? That way once parents becomes citizens, minors would get it implicitly. Quote Link to comment
questionb
Great point. I will become eligible for citizenship only after September this year. (5 years).. I'm sure that is a multi-month process at best but that is of course my last solution. Quote Link to comment
