S_D
Hi, I misplaced my valid Green Card, filed I-90, got receipt notice, did biometrics, got I-551 stamp on my passport. I am due to travel to India via Dubai for a few weeks. Are most local emigration/ immigration officials familiar with the I-551? Or will my life be difficult when I try to travel back to the US? I'll have a 3-year old US citizen with me. Besides the stamp/ passport, receipt notice and a copy of my Green Card, should I try to get gather other documentation? What? Thanks, S Quote Link to comment
care_candidate
I-551 is fine to enter. You can have copy of old GC as backup but you still are ok. Quote Link to comment
S_D
So, officials in India/ Dubai are familiar with i-551 and will let me leave those countries without the US visa/ Green card? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
care_candidate
Yes, it is not common but still used. Quote Link to comment
