SandhyaReddyV Posted July 11, 2019 Report Share Posted July 11, 2019 I am currently on student visa f1 and am working with OPT in state Govt. organization. But, my OPT would end on 11/11/2019. My husband has an approved I-140. I want to transition from F1 to H4 and apply for H4 and EAD at the same time and request the start date to be on 11/10/2019 so that I will not get any gap in the employment. Can I request for a start date of both h4 and EAD on the same date because If I just get H4 and not EAD, I would still have to stop working till I get my EAD. Is there any other way that I can apply for leave without pay at my workplace and stay off work till my EAD gets approved in case I do not get both on the same date? Quote Link to comment
