Incorrect first name in H4(Child) Issued Visa

Hello Experts!

I made a minor mistake in my daughters  ( Age 12 years ) first name in DS-160 & hence her H4 Visa stamp is showing incorrect first name ,  I am in India currently and will have to travel back in ~14 days , 

Please let me know if it is safe to travel with a minor mistake in first name and Please suggest what should i do next.

Better to contact the VFS center and ask what can be done. Travel might be a risk.

There should not be an issue. Call VFS and if they will correct it, fine.

Thank you #pontevecchio & shekar11# , i have sent my passport back to the counsulate today & they said they will reissue it ASAP.

Is there a way to track it ? and since my return is Tuesday night.. do you think its safe option to submit my passport to them ? 

please suggest if there is any alternative

Since you have sent the passport, hopefully they will be prompt. The issue could have been with the Airline and not US Immigration. Let us know.

Hello All,

Thanks for the all the inputs,  I reached out to VFS Mumbai last week & they asked me to resubmit the passport for correction, 

i got my corrected /updated passport 3 working days after it was submitted.
