Traveled India while the H1-B extension was pending, The new I-797A has old I-94# (which is expired) with validity till 03/24/22

I have applied for my H1-B extension on 11/27/2018 and before it got approved, I traveled to India for family emergency (from 12/09/2018 through 12/23/2018) with my Previous VISA which was valid until 03/14/2019. 

My H1-B extension was approved on 12/20/2018, I wasn't aware of the approval and entered into US with my old VISA. 

The latest H1-B extension has my previous I-94# and validity from 03/15/2019 thorough 03/24/2022, 

I was randomly checking my I-94 status and found that it has a New/updated I-94# than the one in My latest I-797A and the validity (Admit) Until Date : 03/14/2019 only. 

Questions I have:
1. Am I currently out of status? Is my stay legal now?
2. How and where can I check my legal status?
3. Who can attach/append my passport with the latest I-94# (H1-B (I797A) extension petition) with the validity from 03/15/2019 thorough 03/24/2022 without me travelling to India?
