Nzfh Posted July 5, 2019 Report Share Posted July 5, 2019 Hello, I came to USA with F1 visa in 2013. I finished my PhD in Electrical Engineering last year and my F1 got expired last July. My STEM OPT started from September 2018 and is valid till September 12, 2019. I have valid EAD and is employed in a company. Recently, I traveled urgently to my home country to visit my family due to death of a family member. But as my visa is expired I am having uncertainty in returning to USA. My OPT is valid currently only for a few more months, I am afraid if they will issue me a new F1 visa now. Besides, applying and waiting for a new visa is a process that takes more than a month, which can hamper my job. My query is, is it possible to re-renter USA with a valid OPT, I-20, EAD and proof of employment, without having a new visa stamp? Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
