Now I got a job at a non-profit organization and my employer is going to apply for H1B. Since, I do not have enough time to get the cap-gap extension, I have to leave the country and attend the consulate. I have few questions: How long can I stay after my OPT expiry date? If I stay in US in my grace period of 60 days, do I get questioned at embassy when I go for my H1B visa stamping? Does staying in US in the grace period counts toward illegal stay?
