jjgarrisson Posted May 7, 2019 Report Share Posted May 7, 2019 Hi, I am a PhD student in mechanical engineering. My visa is valid till June 30, 2019. My i20 program end date is July 31 2019 and I have applied for a STEM OPT. My question is whether it is possible for me to travel back to my home country in May and get my visa renewed? Will their be any risk since I am so close to graduation? PS: I have had two 221g admin processing before. I am ok with getting a security check but I want to know if there is a chance for rejection. The DSO in my university said travel is not a problem with pending OPT since I have not graduated yet. Quote Link to comment
