sram2019
Hi, Recently my relative came to USA. At the port of entry, the CBP officer told her repeatedly that she can only stay for two months. However her passport was stamped for 6 months length of stay and her I-94 also shows six months. The discrepancy is confusing. Can she stay more than two months, and if she stays for more than two months, will that create any issue in her future visits? thanks Quote Link to comment
xTDx
May be may be not. She should follow what CBP told her "repeatedly " and leave in 2 months. The CBP officer might have written down the conversation and this may negatively affect her chances of getting admitted into US next time. Quote Link to comment
care_candidate
I-94 is the ultimate document to follow for B2 visa. Do you have any written proof of 2 months stay that officer was talking about? If not, call and take INFOPASS appointment to clarify the date. Make sure visitor has clear date of return or ticket purchased. Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
Maybe she did not understand what he was saying? Maybe confusion where none exists? If he wanted her to stay for 2 months, he would have stamped accordingly. The I94 is controlling. Quote Link to comment
