H1B timeline after employment termination

Dear community,

My current H1B sponsor is having some financial issues and I am now out of job. I'm actively searching for jobs but am really concerned about the next steps. If you have knowledge or experience on this topic, your answer would be really appreciated.

1. If I can find a job within about 6 weeks, hopefully the new employer will be able to file for a transfer before the 60-day grace period. Is it likely to get my H1B successfully transferred to the new employer, or the job offer needs to come sooner than that?

2. My husband is on J1 visa in the U.S. as well, should I file for a J2 visa now or should I wait until I have some firm news about my job search?
