L1A change of Status from H1B

Hi,

I am currently out of USA and have a valid H1B visa till end of Sep 2019. My L1A is under process and has been filed in premium processing. My company wants me to travel on priority next week. I want to know if i can do a change of status of H1B to L1A when i am in US or do i need to travel back and get a stamping done. This will help me decide if i need to take my family along in a hurry next week or if i can come back after 2 months and get all our visa stamped before we travel together again. 

Also will it in anyway affect my L1A processing if i travel now.
