Travel After Mailing out Packet (2020 Cap) and Return before Lottery

Here is my Situation. Help would be appreciated.

My Employer Mailed out my H1B Packet for 2020 Cap with my current i94 Travel History (packet will be delivered to USCIS on 04/01)  - However due to personal emergency i will have to travel out of the US for 3-4 days (will be returning before the Lottery). Upon return my i94 Travel History will be updated.

Will my Travel affect my COS Application from F1 to H1B ? Will the COS be void ! (Note - I will be returning before the lottery process)

Yes. COS is considered abandoned if traveled out of country.

@ RGRT - I feel your pain. I'm in a very similar situation (travelled from March29-April 6th, and employer filed on April 1st). Did you get any clarity on your situation? 

My companies attorney said that historically, the earliest h1b petitions are receipted are during the 2nd week of April, I might be ok. But to your point, I am concerned about the discrepancy of the I94 travel history.
