Attorney_22
A frequent misconception is that an individual needs to be in H1B status or in the U.S. to start the PERM green card process. This is not true, the PERM green card process is a future offer of employment. Therefore, it is not necessary to be in H1B status first, or in the U.S. Generally, it is advisable to start the green card process as soon as you can. Thus, if you have an employer willing to sponsor you, you should speak with an attorney to discuss the nuances.
