We are getting married in May,19 and my wife's college starts in October so she cannot apply for a Visa 120 days before college start which would be June'19 at earliest. I wanted to understand which would be the best way to go for her Visa application. Should we apply for H4 after marriage and then apply for change of status to F1 when she comes over ? Or should we apply for F1 on married status ? my concern with this is that I have heard there is a higher rejection rate for F1 when showing married status to an H1B holder. Kindly advice.
