Solo H4B extension (H1B was extended when I changed jobs)

Hi,

My new H1B visa and I-94 are valid until Oct 2020 but my wife's H4B and I-94 will expire in Nov 2019. My wife is being advised to fly out of the US and re-enter the country with my new I-797 which theoretically will extend my wife's I-94 to Oct 2020. Would appreciate your responses on the below questions:

1) Is the above advice valid? Can we get her I-94  extended by simply presenting my I-797 at the port of entry?

2) Even if my wife's I-94 is extended, her H4B visa will still reflect Nov 2019. Will that cause any issue with her H4EAD? We are planning to file fore H4EAD extension once her I-94 is extended to Oct 2020.
